A city is not only about buildings, but also about narratives recorded in facades, doors, windows and bricks. They tell about the ambitions of eras, changes in urban space and compromises between history and modernity. Are we ready to decipher, hear and preserve these narratives?

The building of the DRUK cultural and public center is an object of restoration and a place where architectural heritage becomes a point of contact between the past and the future. Here we will gather to explore Kharkiv together, in the format of a dialogue, as a text written in materials, scales and urban rhythms.

Together with the curators of the urban direction of DRUK, Viktor Dvornikov and Kateryna Movchan, we will explore how the city tells its story through windows, doors, bricks and spaces.

What can you expect at the event?

• We will talk about the restoration of DRUK and the city's activism in this direction.
• We will show real cases of preserving Kharkiv's architecture.
• We will explore spaces that reveal the history of the city.
• We will share plans for our restoration initiatives.

Also, as part of the event, we plan to take you behind the scenes of the building, in particular, to those halls that are still closed to public access, and talk about plans for their restoration. And, of course, show the already restored elements and talk in more detail about this process.

This event is for those who see the city not just as a space, but as an artifact, a text and a field for interaction. Kharkiv says: it's time to listen to it carefully.
