"Donbas Forever With Me" is a collection of comics about the experience of resettlement in 2014 and nostalgia for home.
"I became a migrant from Donbas in 2014, on my 18th birthday. It must have been some kind of initiation rite... I made a comic about it in 2022. There's also a story about Sviatohorsk in the collection; it’s a city of nostalgia for me. In it, I tell my younger sister and stepfather good stories about Donbas. I used to visit Sviatohorsk every year. For me, Donbas is hope, memory, and childhood. Such things always remain in one’s heart."
The zine was published as part of the 'Zine Beginning for Makers' project, organized by Neotodresh Gallery and the Ukrainian zine community, with support from the Global Fund for Children.
