Due to the Russian occupation or destroyed housing, access to family archives and photo albums remains mostly inaccessible to IDPs from Eastern Ukraine. This problem has been relevant since 2014, but against the background of Russia's full-scale war against Ukraine, it has become colossal.

Although we don't have access to physical photo albums, our smartphones store hundreds of memories: photos of friends and family, ourselves, homes, cities and towns, and everyday life in them. However, such archives are often closed from prying eyes, because they are the personal memories of each individual person.

Currently, "Gareleya Neotodresh" is working on the creation of a photo album of the Luhansk region. For this purpose, about 4,000 photos of residents of the region were collected from their private photo archives. Not all photos are professional, but they are sincere in reflecting the everyday life of Luhansk region.

This time, we depart from the usual format of the presentation, and offer you to review part of the shared photo archive sent, so the event itself will be like a collective nostalgic photo viewing session.

We invite you to the first presentation of the photo album on 10.11.24 in Kharkiv, Tvorche Nezhyt, 10/2 Goncharivsky Boulevard.

Start at 17:00

The event will be held by the founder of "Harelei" Vitaly Matukhno, and the researcher of the State Enterprise "Gardens of Donbas" Hanna Nevydima.

The project is implemented in cooperation with the Goethe-Institut in Ukraine.
