Arabesques are complex Arabic ornaments consisting of floral and geometric patterns. The essence of arabesques lies in their seemingly incoherent and chaotic nature, yet they embody unity and integrity.

"Arabesques" is a novella currently included in the "Blue Etudes" collection (...etudes that I will never, ever write again, according to Khvylovyi himself). A whimsical flow of associations, impressionism, the world of art, the hero's world, ornamentation, and landscape all flow and intertwine within it, creating a Cityscape.

Therefore, we invite you to join a symbolic conversation about life as it is. When discussing life, it’s impossible not to mention its antithesis—death. Thus, this is also a conversation about the other extreme of human existence.

Duration: 2 hours 15 minutes (with an intermission)
