Cultural and public center DRUK, together with Part.ua, presents in Berlin the first lecture from a series of events dedicated to the study of the Ukrainian cultural code.

‍Since the start of the full-scale invasion, many Ukrainian cultural figures have found themselves abroad, where they now represent Ukraine on the international cultural stage. But do foreigners understand who we are? How do we differ from other nations, especially from Russians? Do we have messages that comprehensively represent Ukrainian culture, messages that are our internal national benchmarks? After all, do we know ourselves?

All these questions—along with the concept of the cultural code, its components, examples of the use of the Ukrainian cultural code, and the challenges of its research and formation—will be addressed in a lecture by Olha Sytnyk, head of the cultural and public center DRUK, philosopher, and PhD in cultural studies.
