Together with the Dovzhenko Center and the SlovoDruk laboratory, we embark on a journey to Kyiv at the end of the 19th century, where Khvesko Golokhvostyy chases not only two hares, but also his own character.
What awaits you?
• A viewing of the legendary film, shot in 1961 at the Dovzhenko Kyiv Film Studio.
• A lecture by Vladyslav Radchenko about the history of the film and the play by Mykhailo Starytsky, which became its basis.
Interesting fact: for a long time, the film was shown only in Russian, because the Ukrainian version was considered "too folk". Only in 2013 was it restored, and now you can hear the original voices of the actors.
