DRUK eliminates the consequences of shelling

01 March - 02 March

Place:

Cultural and Civic Center DRUK

cost:

Last night, February 28, a series of night flights took place near the DRUK Cultural and Civic Center building - an attack by Russians that hit several districts of Kharkiv at once. But the DRUK building suffered only minor damage.

Today, March 1, we will host an urban event "Point of Contact: Urban Dialogue", dedicated to the restoration initiatives currently underway in the city and the possibilities of rebuilding the city after the destruction caused by the war.

This also directly concerns the DRUK building, where restoration work is also underway - but in the part that is not yet involved for cultural events. And this is a very difficult challenge - to restore the building without any guarantees, because the next shelling may damage it again. Part of the DRUK building, which is located on the side of the inner courtyard, is currently under restoration. Since the beginning of last year, renovation work has been actively underway here.

Today, the DRUK team planned to conduct a short tour of the premises that are just waiting for renovation work. We wanted to show the visitors what the building looks like - today this tour will also cover the consequences of the Russian attack. Currently, the building is partially damaged on the side of the inner courtyard, which can be seen in the photo (gallery below) - reconstruction work is underway.

At the same time, all planned events will definitely take place. In particular, in the near future we are waiting for guests at two events that we will have in the near future. These are "Touch Point: Urban Dialogue" and "Walking on Maslenitsa". They will be held in a safe and cozy Mystetskyi shelter. The Art Shelter is a renovated part of the DRUK Cultural and Civic Center with uninterrupted power supply and official shelter status.

“Point of Contact: Urban Dialogue” involves discussions on practical steps for reconstruction and restoration in Kharkiv.

“Masnytsia Walk” is a bright and colorful event that creates a festive atmosphere through traditional Ukrainian celebrations and rituals.

Sincerely,
The DRUK Cultural and Civic Center Team.
